Welcome Rebelz Families to the 2021/2022 Spring Season Continuation!
We are back on court this coming week with the first game next Saturday Feb 5th. Training starts this week starting Monday 31st Jan (two day’s time) so it’s time to dust off the runners, find your uniform and go for a run around the block!
Please check all the below keys points you need to be aware of and assist with as we restart.
Warm Regards, Madonna and the Committee

PLAYHQ LICENCE RENEWAL – URGENT – Some players may have their PlayHQ licence fee due around now. If it is not paid and up to date you may not be able to be located on the tablet for games. If you have received an email from PlayHQ about this (sent to the email your membership was set up on) please urgently contact communications@millparkrebelz.com.au as we will need to provide you a voucher code to ‘re-register’ your player to the current season. The annual PlayHQ licence fee is now $26 for U18s and $40 for 18+.

INABILITY TO PLAY – With Covid quite prevalent at the moment, if you are unable to play due to Covid or needing to isolate, please advise your team manager or coach ASAP. If we need to activate a walkover, is important that we can do this as soon as possible to reduce impact on the competition and the club. If it is definitely due to Covid please let us know as there are certain actions the club may need to take. Confidentiality will be adhered to.

VENUE ENTRY – All 4 courts are now available at Mill Park, however there are still renovations in place so please take care when entering and leaving with caution.

VACCINATION – Anyone over the age of 18 needs to be fully vaccinated. However Basketball Victoria can confirm that effective immediately, all participants aged under 18 years will no longer have to show proof of their vaccination status to enter indoor basketball venues within Victoria.
The Victorian Government has announced as part of a number of eased COVID-19 restrictions, that as of Wednesday 15 December at 11.59pm, those under 18 years of age are now defined as excepted persons, so they hold the same status as somebody who is fully vaccinated as per the Open Premises Order.

SPECTATOR LIMITS – We are advised that all must abide by the no spectator rule due to capacity limits and the growing number of cases we have at present. Therefore 1 person per player is allowed.

FACE MASKS – All Patrons over the age of 8 MUST wear a facemask upon entry and leave them on unless playing within a game. Players are encouraged to put a mask on whenever they are not actively involved in the game (on the bench, straight after a game etc).

POSITIVE OR ISOLATION – If you or someone in your household is positive or in isolation please do not attend our venues, follow Government directives. It has been tough on all of us for the last 2 years, however the last thing we want is for you or someone else to be put in a tricky situation.

GRADING – Due to interruption, grading is still in progress for the next 2 weeks but may extend another round. Please understand that there will likely be changes made to which division/grade your team may be allocated in. Players may not move between teams at this point though.

TEAM MANAGERS – Some teams still don’t have a team manager yet. Parents from these teams will be contacted to see who can assist. Without a team manager, we may need to fold the team as the Committee is unable to perform this role also. The role is reasonable simple, mainly communication between the Committee and team members, arranging a scoring roster, showing new parents how to do the scoring. Please give some thought to this and contact communications@millparkrebeblz.com.au if you think you could help.
